Thesisupdate: Proposal is accepted!

Triple-yay!

After my first proposal for a thesis was rejected by the university as the quality of the proposed thesis didn’t quite match the (high) university-standards, I sat down to rethink what Ordina was asking from me, and what I wanted myself.
I met with the supervisors from both Ordina and the university to discuss the matter and came up with an ingenious solution (if I might say so myself), I was not going to report on the symptoms, I was going to study the root of the problem!

What this problem is, and what the symptoms are will remain undisclosed for now: I promise to elaborate on them later on.
To those with whom I’ve discussed my proposal in the last week: yes, that subject is now accepted.

My data-collection stage will commence as of now, and I’m planning to start writing shortly.
FINALLY: we are getting somewhere ;)

A warm welcome

As many of you know, I’m currently doing an internship at Ordina since the last week of July. To my great surprise, I found a note yesterday stating I could collect a bouquet delivered for a mr. Tijhof. Curious as I was, I went to our neighbours to retrieve the flowers only to find out they were sent for me! Who on earth could be sending ME a flower bouquet? Turns out it’s from the business unit I’m currently doing my internship with, so I’d like to thank you all for this fine present!

Acceptance

Today has been a big day in my, so far very short, career.

My internship has been approved! I will be busy writing my masterthesis at Ordina, a leading company when talking about SOA and SOA-integration. My job is to write a thesis which not only will grant me a degree at my university, but one that will satisfy the need at Ordina for certain knowledge.
So far, I’m still trying to find an optimal subject for me to write about.

I’m currently still debating, continuing with a longlist of 9 subjects. I will narrow it down to about 2 or 3 subjects to make my final decision. Also, I found myself a thesis-supervisor at the university, mr. Guah. He will be responsible for the approval of my thesis, and support me when needed.

These two combined make up a great week for me, I hope it’ll be like this for quite some time.
