It's a colourful world out there

We’ve been busy searching for the right colour to paint our house / rooms with for quite some time now, and as the recent movers know: it’s a huge task to find that colour that fits your requisites just right.

That is: if you’re lucky enough to know what you want.
When you don’t have the slightest idea of the tone you’re looking for, searching through up to 1500 colours per vendor is a daunting task.
We’ve embarked on a voyage which would lead us alongside the choices which are to be made when decorating.

Settling with the basic: “we need white to go on the ceiling and walls, with at least one wall being a different colour altogether” the search was on. Learning every vendor sells about 75+ shades of white alone (and with that number increasing yearly due to new additions because of trends), we eventually settled with a very simple concoction of the shades in total.

I can say this: the ceiling will be very basic: white. Plain white. No difficult RAL-codes (RAL9010 seems to be the most often used in the Netherlands) or trendy shades of white on our ceiling. Not to mention it being cheap by the way. 😉
Secondly, the walls will primarily be “Porcelain White” It’s a “new” colour by a very well-known vendor, who has selected it to be The Colour for this Spring and Summer. Combined with a lovely contrasting tone of some other colour, it’ll probably blend well.

Oh well, we’ll see.
It’s not going to be the most daring paint job, the dullest it will also not be. We were aiming for tastefully “us”, which in our minds has been achieved.

Now to lay it all down on the walls and ceilings. 😉
