Today has been a big day in my, so far very short, career.

My internship has been approved! I will be busy writing my masterthesis at Ordina, a leading company when talking about SOA and SOA-integration. My job is to write a thesis which not only will grant me a degree at my university, but one that will satisfy the need at Ordina for certain knowledge.
So far, I’m still trying to find an optimal subject for me to write about.

I’m currently still debating, continuing with a longlist of 9 subjects. I will narrow it down to about 2 or 3 subjects to make my final decision. Also, I found myself a thesis-supervisor at the university, mr. Guah. He will be responsible for the approval of my thesis, and support me when needed.

These two combined make up a great week for me, I hope it’ll be like this for quite some time.

  1. I will be stationed in, where else: Nieuwegein.
It’s not an optimal location for me, but hey; I feel fine here. They are sincerely interested and see potential, and I feel like I fit right in.
    Win-win for both 🙂

  2. Oh, and ‘leading’ is a relative term when talking about SOA. But at least I’ll give Ordina the credit that from what I hear from then, they’re actually seriously working with it instead of only using it as a marketing tool / buzzword.

  3. Actually, they claim to be thought-leader when it comes to SOA, although i’m not sure whether they claim it locally (the Netherlands), in Europe or globally.
Anyway, the claim to be “leading” is always controversial, and given the fact you are from one of the competitors, I will not go too far with it 🙂

To come to an agreement: They are right at the bleeding edge of SOA, together with some others; which I wisely will not mention by name. 😉

  4. and because I always want to have the final say in matters:

Resultaten 1 – 10 van circa 399 pagina’s in het Nederlands voor SOA +”thought leader”.

    Long live google 🙂
