All new and shiny

On the interwebs, there’s a fierce war going on to win our loyalty. It’s something you probably use every day, and on several computers. At home, at work and on your mobile phone. I’m obviously talking about a browser. On your work it probably still is IE6 (at teast at my place!) while you’ve been upgraded to IE8 on your

Deadlocked?

Yesterday, our central heating system broke. I’m guessing it did, as I’m no heater-expert… The little flame isn’t burning anymore, and it’s not coming back on. No matter how hard I try. We kind of figured it would happen some day, as the system was built in back in 1992, and wih an average lifespan of about 15 years, ours

What happened afterwards

I left you with a statement about what happened, and this is what. I lost about a year worth of photo’s through a very unfortunate series of events. Firstly, my synchronize-software was inadvertently convinced that the external drive containing the pictures was the ‘destination’ drive, instead of the ‘source’-drive. This lead to the deletion of the last year’s worth of

Blast from the past

Back in the day, when the Egyptians ruled our (oh well, theirs) world, papyrus was the way to store information. These days that role has been taken by paper at first and then the digital media. Youngsters are now counting space in gigabytes instead of pages of books… Am I getting old? To restore the old: we bought the following:

Yet another upgrade

Things are moving fast these days: shortly after the release of the 2.8-branch, patches 2.8.1 and even 2.8.2 became available. Today I upgraded to 2.8.2 to avoid being vulnerable to an XSS-attack. I hope these kinds vulnerabilities will not be present in this version, nor the following versions. However: props to the contributors at WP for fixing it fast!

WordPress plugin Lightbox mess

As I recently upgraded from WP2.7 to the 2.8-branch, some issues could be expected. A recurring issue concerns a plugin I’m using to display those lovely popups (lightbox) to display images without leaving the page. Long story short: it’s not working anymore. I’m currently looking into a solid replacement, but so far no luck. You’ll have to do with the

We've been linked!

I don’t know yet for how long it has been, but I’m pretty pleased by the fact that we’ve been noticed! Remember me posting some stuff on XBRL? It has been noticed by the XBRL-organization of Spain (XBRL España), and our document was directly linked from there! *evidence* (and scroll down) I don’t know how to respond to this to

More festivities

As I announced on my birthday, I was anxiously waiting for another present to be delivered. It’s areal gem, and is destined to live directly in front of my camera; it’s a lens! It’s not just any lens, it’s the Tokina 12-24mm f/4.0 AF AT-X PRO DX II with Nikon F-mount. It’s a true monster compared to my tiny Nikkor

[insert festivities]

Yay! It’s my birthday today (I’m turning 25 this year), and I already got some presents. As you might know by now, I’m a Lego-addict, and I’ve got a new present to add to my collection: the 8294! It’s an excavator, and it fits nicely with the other pieces in the collection. 🙂 (And yes, I’m already scavenging for the
